Toucan

About the Organization

Toucan is on a mission to give everybody somebody to talk to! Toucan leverages the power of peer support in an accessible, low-cost, anonymous, 1-1, digital platform that pairs people with similar experiences/concerns for 15 minute, synchronous audio conversations. Simply put, Toucan gives users a place to speak and listen, openly and securely, to someone who is going through something similar to them.

Co-Founders

Project Lead

Josh & Jane formed Toucan over a shared experience of frustration with the mental health offerings available to them to address their personal ups and downs and life transitions. Jane is an experienced business professional with a background in finance and recruiting, and an MBA from UC Berkeley Haas School of Business.

Josh spent 13 years practicing law as in-house counsel for companies in the tech, media, events and advertising spaces. In 2020 he transitioned to the business side, first with an 8 month stint as Entrepreneur in Residence at Anthem, Inc, and then focusing full-time on Toucan. Josh spends his free time with his wife and 2 daughters, playing guitar and building furniture.
