About the Organization

Centro Community Partners (Centro) is an Oakland-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a mission to build thriving communities by providing underserved, low-to-moderate income (LMI) people with entrepreneurship education, financial literacy, one-on-one business advising, mentorship, and access to capital. Centro empowers underserved women and minority entrepreneurs to be effective business owners, create self-sustaining jobs, and obtain microloans to grow businesses that add to the economic vitality and social vibrancy of their communities.

Development Associate and Small Business Advisor

Project Lead

A former Small Business Advisor for Centro, Emily is responsible for the development of relationships with funders through presentations, personal meetings and regular communications. She also searches for potential supporters of Centro through corporations, family foundations and individuals. Emily comes from an education background, with a focus on supporting low-income, first generation students through college graduation. Emily has an MBA/MA in Educational Leadership from Mills College and an MS in Counseling from Barry University. Emily resides in Jersey City, NJ.
